India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr S. Jaishankar and Foreign Minister, D.N. Dhungyel jointly unveiled plaques for three major projects at the Wangduechholing Palace Museum in Bumthang today.
The ceremony began with the laying of the foundation stone for the 500-kilowatt Lunana Hydropower Project.
This was followed by the inauguration of the 65-beds Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Mother and Child Hospital in Monggar.
The two ministers then inaugurated the Jaganathan Bridge on the Samdrup Jongkhar–Trashigang Highway.
The ministers later toured the Wangduechholing Palace Museum.
They were then briefed on the National Cattle Breeding Centre and its work to strengthen livestock production.
The presentation also highlighted the procurement of pure Jersey parent stock from India under the PTA project, “Advancing Livestock Resilience and Economic Prosperity for National Food and Nutrition Security.”
The programme concluded with the unveiling of a banner marking the handover of 43 Jersey cows.
India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr S. Jaishankar arrived in the country today on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Foreign Minster.
