A major leadership change at the Gelephu Mindfulness City as two new Co-Chief Executive Officers have been appointed to guide the project forward. This follows the stepping down of Liew Mun Leong as CEO due to health reasons.
According to a press release issued today, the Gelephu Mindfulness City has appointed Lee Seow Hiang and Pang Yee Ean as its new Co-Chief Executive Officers.
Lee, the founding CEO of Changi Airport Group, is widely credited for transforming Changi into one of the world’s most awarded aviation hubs, including the creation of the iconic Jewel Changi Airport. He also served as Chairman of Changi Airports International and as Principal Private Secretary to the late Singaporean leader Lee Kuan Yew.
Pang, who has been a Board Member of GMC, has played an important role in shaping the city’s development. His previous experience includes leading major infrastructure investments at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and serving as CEO of Surbana Jurong Capital.
The leadership change follows the stepping down of Liew Mun Leong, who is leaving the position due to an eye condition after several operations this year. His Majesty The King and the Board have expressed deep appreciation for Liew’s invaluable contributions, including the start of construction of the Gelephu International Airport, which laid a strong foundation for the city’s future.
The Co-CEOs said they are “deeply honoured to continue advancing His Majesty’s vision for the Gelephu Mindfulness City, a place where thoughtful design, sustainable development, and community purpose converge,” adding that their focus will be to “translate this vision into tangible impact and lasting value for Bhutan and beyond.”
