His Majesty presented with a Guard of Honour at New Delhi

HM-Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati BhavanHis Majesty the King was presented with a Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the Indian capital city, New Delhi, yesterday.

On the eve of India’s Republic day celebrations, yesterday, His Majesty was accorded a ceremonial welcome. It included a salute by the colorful cavalry brigade, a Guard of Honour by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force and a 21 gun salute at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

After the presentation of the arms, His Majesty the King then visited Rajghat, the National Memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen laid a wreath and offered prayers.HM+PMManmohanSIngh

His Majesty also met with the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. A private lunch was hosted in honour of their Majesties, the King and the Queen.

His Majesty also granted audiences to the Vice-President Mohammad H. Ansari, the External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid, Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, and the Opposition Leader in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj.

His Majesty also met Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance.

Later in the evening President Pranab Mukherjee also hosted a banquet in honour of His Majesty the King.
