Yokohama-Bhutan Friendship Association donated an additional US$ 10,000 for the reconstruction of Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. The cheque was handed over to the Prime Minister In-charge, Yeshey Zimba, by the Vice Chairman of the Yokohama-Bhutan Friendship Association, Yukoki Miyazawa at Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.

The association had donated US$ 10,000 in July this year through Her Royal Highness the Princess, Kesang Wangmo Wangchuck.

Yukoki Miyazawa said they remember very well the warm remarks and support the people of Bhutan extended when Japan was in the midst of

several difficulties because of disasters. “It is our turn to extend the same gratitude, support and good wishes,” she said.

Lyonpo Yeshey Zimba thanked her on behalf of the people and the government of Bhutan and said their support will go a long way in the rebuilding Wangdue Dzong.
