The Bhutanese Women’s Cricket team managed to bag a consolation win as they bow out of the ACC Women’s T20 Championship in Malaysia. Playing against Bahrain Women today, Bhutan put in a spirited performance to end the tournament on a high.

Batting first, led by captain Dechen Wangmo’s blistering knock of 64 runs, Bhutan posted a commendable 126 runs in 20 overs. Tshering Zangmo also contributed 28 runs in the process.

On the other hand, Bahrain did not pose any threat to Bhutan’s total. Bahrain scored only 63 runs for the loss of six wickets handing Bhutan a convincing 63-run victory.

The championship was a pathway to the Women’s Asia Cup, which will be held later this year. Bhutan finished fourth in group B after losing the opening three matches against Nepal, Hong Kong and Kuwait.
