According to the National COVID-19 Task Force, some colleges and institutes are warning students and trainees that they may be removed from the list or have their admissions cancelled if they do not report by the scheduled date. The National COVID Task Force has instructed the Regional and Dzongkhag Task Forces across the country to send a letter to students and trainees to assure them of their admission and enrolment.
The Royal University of Bhutan and the Ministry of Labour said that reporting dates for students will be kept flexible depending on the situation. However, classes will be held online for the time being.
“We continue to educate people who arrive at the institutes. We also do not warn anyone who is not able to attend their respective institute. If members of a large group cannot attend the institutes, the training is rescheduled. And when possible, virtual training is offered. We have asked people who were registered in the institutes to register for the next group if they were unable to attend this time,” said Jigme Dorji, Chief Programme Officer of the Technical Education Department at the Labour Ministry.
Meanwhile, the National COVID-19 Task Force has instructed the relevant authorities to give due consideration to the late reporting. This is because students and trainees from high-risk areas and red zones cannot travel due to a shortage of quarantine facilities.
