Fourth Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel National Open Tennis championship ends

Tandin Wangchuk was crowned men’s singles tennis champion of the fourth Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel National Open Tennis championship today in Thimphu. He defeated the two-time champion Tenzin Singye Dorji.

In the women’s singles, Sushila Rai won the championship. Other categories included mixed lucky doubles and veteran’s singles. The finalists were awarded cash prizes.

According to Bhutan Tennis Federation, players from other districts could not participate this time due to the pandemic. However, participants in the doubles and women’s singles increased compared to the past.
