The History of Kidu System in Bhutan

Kidu system in Bhutan dates back to as early as Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel’s period. Today, the Druk Gyalpo’s Relief Kidu has been supporting the livelihood of thousands of Bhutanese affected by the pandemic. To highlight the history and the importance of the Kidu system in Bhutan, our producer Sonam Dema interviewed the writer and historian Dasho Karma Ura.
