An increasing number of people are seen wearing face masks in fear of the COVID-19 every day. This according to the Health Ministry is not necessary for now as there is no community transmission.
“As of now, there is no community or local transmission of COVID-19. It is all imported cases. We don’t even have a single case of community transmission as of now. That is why we do not have a say on whether people should use face masks or not. But if a community transmission case is detected, we have plans and programmes in place and one of them is the use of face masks,” said Dechen Wangmo, the Health Minister.
