2 Missing in a flash flood, Lhuntse

A 49-year-old mother and her 23-year-old daughter who is 7-month pregnant went missing since last night after a flash flood at Lingabee in Gangzur, Lhuentse.

The incident occurred at around midnight. According to sources, the incident happened while the victims were trying to escape. However, a man, relative of the family was saved as he could not get out of the house. The flash flood also damaged the house and crops, and washed away the farm animals belonging to the victims. Police, Dessups, Volunteers and Dzongkhag rescue team are still looking for the victims.

This is the second flash flood that occurred in Lhuentse this year alone.
