Bhalujhora bridge in Pasakha collapsed this afternoon after a fourteen wheeler Indian truck drove over it. Since it was his first time in Pasakha, the driver wasn’t aware that only light vehicles were allowed to pass through the bridge. The truck was carrying consignments for one of the industries in Pasakha.

BBS learnt that a cost for the bridge will be estimated which the truck owner or the consignee have to bear by whoever is at fault. the case will also be forwarded to the Police on Monday.

Department of Roads has deputed an excavator at the site to assist the movement of vehicles, since, vehicles are rerouted through the river to reach the other side. As of now, pedastrains were allowed to pass through the adjacent bridge which is under construction. The construction of the new bridge will be completed by the end of this month. And after filling all formalities it is expected to be opened to traffic by mid July.

Once the new bridge gets operational, it is hoped that the long overdue issue of Bhalujhora bridge will be solved permanently.
