However, Ugyen Academy FC equalized with a goal from Yeshi Dorji in the 71st minute of the second half. With both sides failing to score the winning goal by the end of the 90th minute, the match went into the dreaded penalty shootout.

Following two missed opportunities by Thimphu City FC, Ugyen Academy FC won the penalty shootout 4-3.

Similarly, the two-time national league champions, Transport United FC came face to face against Paro FC in the second semi-final match played yesterday.

By the end of the first half, Paro FC led by one goal against nil. However, the Transport United equalized through Kencho Tobgay scoring in the 49th minute of the second half.

The defensive walls of Paro FC finally broke down as Transport United led through a goal from Kencho Tobgay yet again. To further add on to the dismay of Paro FC, Transport United extended their lead to 3 goals in the 80th minute.

Nevertheless, Paro FC tried to come back in the game by scoring again in the 82nd minute. Paro FC tried to equalize and take the game into penalties but failed as Transport united scored yet again late in the additional minutes.
