The Tsirang District Court sentenced six Indian construction workers to prison for voluntary manslaughter yesterday. They were sentenced to prison terms ranging from four to nine and half years.

Five of the six accused were sentenced to four and half years each for aiding and abetting. The main accused, who hit the deceased on the head with a piece of wood, received nine and half years.

The incident took place on the night of November 21 last year in Phuentenchu Gewog, when the 26-year-old DCM driver and the construction workers had altercation under the influence of alcohol.
