Beware of thieving rats. A farmer in Dujeygang Geog in Dagana has lost around Nu.180,000 to rats.

Ap Chathey hid the money in a hole in the wall of his mud rammed house in fear of burglars.

“Burglars are common even in the village and I did not have the time to go and deposit the money in the bank. I thought I will keep it hidden for a month or so before I get the time to travel and deposit it in a bank.”

A couple of weeks later he checked the hidden stash and found the money gone, all eaten to pieces by rats.
