Woman mauled by bear

A woman in her 40’s from Wangdue Phodrang is being treated at the national referral hospital after she was mauled by a bear.

The incident happened yesterday around 3:15 pm in Gogona village of Bjenag Gewog. The woman was in the forest collecting mushroom and wild potatoes when the bear attacked her.

She is said to have suffered critical injuries on the face, hands and legs.
