Even as the citizens of the country descend in Trongsa valley to celebrate the 109th National Day, a special moment in the history will be created, tomorrow.

“…This is going to be the moment, which will never again be repeated in the history. This is the moment when His Majesty The King accompanied by His Majesty Drugyal Zhipa, and Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck are all together in this historic valley,” the former information and communications secretary, Dasho Kinley Dorji said.

This time, Trongsa was chosen to host the national day given its political and religious significance in the country’s history.

To this day, the heir to the throne is appointed Chhoetse Penlop before ascending the golden throne.

On December 17 in 1907, Bhutan crowned its first monarch, Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuck.

This year also marks the birth year Guru Rimpoche, the 400th anniversary of the coming of Zhabdrung to Bhutan and birth of the Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck.

Also, this year is the 10th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s reign.

“This is the culmination of history and legend of figures of destiny, of prophecies, mythologies all coming together in the sacred Trongsa valley and Trongsa Dzong,” said Dasho Kinley.
