Thrimshing Dungkhag Court in Trashigang sentenced a 60-year-old man to five years imprisonment for involuntary manslaughter, today.

The court has also asked the convict to pay a compensation of more than Nu 1, 00,000 to the deceased’s daughter.

The verdict said the convict had hurled a knife at his 40-year-old friend which hit his leg. He later bled to death.

Both of them were under the influence of alcohol when a brawl had broken out.

The incident took place in Kangpara under Trashigang in July, this year.
