The police apprehended 10 suspects, in four different incidences, for allegedly possessing over 3,500 pieces and 350 bottles of controlled pharmaceutical drugs.
The suspects were arrested recently from Thimphu, Tshimasham, Phuentshogling and Gelegphu.
Of the 10 suspects, four are students, two women and the rest unemployed.
According to Narcotic drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Substance Abuse Act of 2015, a person possessing seven grams and above is charged for illicit trafficking of cannabis and its derivatives.
