Monggar Police is interrogating seven suspects in connection with a series of chorten vandalism which took place since 2010 onwards.
The police said the suspects have confessed of vandalising about 70 chortens in Monggar and Lhuntse.
The arrests of the seven began in October, this year.
Sources say the men are also allegedly involved in burglary, larceny, and auto-stripping in Monggar.
Some stolen items have been recovered from the suspects and sent to the Department of Culture for valuation.
Suspects were arrested following a tip-off from informal sources.
Police said they expect more arrests and the number of vandalised chortens is also likely to be more.
