thousands-of-throema-practitioners-gather-for-krodikali-retreatThousands of Throema practitioners are undergoing a three-day Krodikali Retreat in Shari Gweog under Paro.

The annual retreat is being led by His Eminence Dungsey Garab Rimpoche.

The retreat ends on Sunday.

Over a hundred devotees from India and Nepal have also joined in the retreat.

For three days, the devotees will receive teachings from Rimpoche and offer prayers to the goddess Namo, while at the same time maintaining a vow of silence.

The first Krodikali puja was started over a century ago by a renowned treasure revealer and meditation master, DudjomLingpa.

The first such retreat in the country was held in 1990.

According to Lama Namgay Wangdi from Rangjung Monastery, the retreat is big opportunity for the common people to pray and take part in religious activities.

Lama Namgay also shared that attending the retreat would help devotees achieve peace of mind and soul.

“In the three days here, one can achieve peace of mind, and if you achieve the peace of mind you will get peace with your speech and body. For the next life, this will help you achieve enlightenment.”

The Krodikali retreat is held annually.
