postal-ballots-dispatch-begins-in-zhemgangs-two-gewogsFollowing the instructions from the Election Commission of Bhutan, the returning officers of Nangkor and Goshing Gewogs in Zhemgang started dispatching the approved postal ballots since yesterday.

The Dzongkhag Election Office said they received directives from the Election Commission to dispatch postal ballots in the afternoon.

They are expecting to complete the task by today.

Four hundred forty and 272 postal ballots were accepted for Nangkor and Goshing.

The postal ballots were withheld following complaints against two gup nominees from Nangkor and Goshing.

Calling the judgment of the Dzongkhag Election Dispute Settlement Committee unfair, the two complainants had appealed to the Center Election Dispute Settlement Body delaying dispatch of postal ballots for almost a week.

The Center Election Dispute Settlement Body is said to have dismissed the cases and the complainants notified.

The last date of receiving postal ballots by returning officers is  September 26.
