Thimphu police is said to have detained two police personnel for delivering 38 pieces of contraband tablets to an inmate, sources say.
Lock-up security personnel managed to pass on the substance to the inmate during a power outage, last month.
The police, while conducting surprise check, found the inmate in possession of the substance.
As per the section 159 of the Police Act 2009, if a police person is found involved in a criminal offence and get convicted, they shall be terminated from the service.
Police in Thimphu refused to comment.
