With regard to the reports by the Indian media that a 14-year-old Bhutanese girl studying in Kodaikanal Public School in Chennai was molested by a faculty member, the Royal Bhutan Embassy in New Delhi has carried out an investigation on the case. According to the release from the Embassy there are no Bhutanese students studying in Kodaikanal Public School.

The principal said that the molestation allegation against ML Brite is fabricated to discredit the school following a disagreement on payment of fees.

The guardian of the student confirmed that she is not form Bhutan but a Nepali girl from Jaigon, in West Bengal near the Indo-Bhutan border.
