Nation celebrates birth of The Gyalsey

Nation celebrates birth of The GyalseyAfter the official announcement of the arrival of the newest member of the Royal family; the Kuenray of Tashichhodzong was abuzz with Zhung Dratshang performing Gyalsey Thrungten Tendrel Gi Sungchoe for The Gyalsey.

A Guru Tshengay and Nyeten Chungdruk Thongrels were unveiled at the courtyard of Tashichhodzong for public veneration. Indian Ambassador and cabinet ministers came to offer prayers at the ceremony. Capital’s residents also flocked to the dzong to offer prayers and receive blessings from the thongdrels.

Nation celebrates birth of The Gyalsey-SamtseIn Samtse, scores of excited Bhutanese joined the celebration at the newly built Shivalaya Mandir. The temple is dedicated to the birth of the Prince. Pandits have been performing the Maha Puran– or Kurim- at the Shivalaya Mandir for the last 13 days.

In the morning, led by the information and communications minister, officials offered prayers for their Majesties and the Royal Baby at the sanctum of the Mandir. Shivalaya Mandir in Samtse was rebuilt at the command of His Majesty the King in 2014 and completed last year. It will be opened to public beginning today as a Royal gift to the Hindu Community.Gem Chamdrol Sumgi Sungchog-trashigang

In Trashigang, the event was observed in the courtyard of the Trashigang Dzong. As soon as the Royal Birth was announced, Trashigang Dratshang, led by Lam Neten performed Goem Chamdrel Sumgi Sungchog at the Goenkhang of the Dzong. The special Sungchog will continue over three days. The civil servants led by the Dzongda and business community also offered prayers at the Goenkhang.

Later, led by Lam Neten, the Dratshang, civil servants and the business community marked the royal birth at the courtyard of the Dzong.

Similarly events were also held in Trashi Yangtse and Monggar.

INation celebrates birth of The Gyalsey-Lhuentsen Lhuentse, hundreds of people gathered at Takila in Tangmachu to celebrate the Royal birth. As part of the celebrations, Agriculture and Forests Minister Yeshi Dorji, planted a Jangchub Shing or Bodhi tree near the Giant Guru statue there. Five different species of trees, with 108 saplings each, were also planted in five other dzongkhags.

In Minjey Gewog, His Majesty’s Dorji Puen or spiritual sibling, a 23-year-old woman, received a two storey traditional house as gift from His Majesty, today. Various other prayers ceremonies are also underway in different parts of the dzongkhag to mark the occasion.

Various kurims are being performed coinciding with the Royal Birth in Punakha. Dorji Lopen is presiding over a Wangchen along with 140 monks in Punakha Dzong.Nation celebrates birth of The Gyalsey-Punakha

Similarly, inside the Kuenrey, Jigten Wangchuk recitation is being performed presided over by Bumdey Lobey. Zhabdrung Da Namey Sungchey is also part of the ceremony. Coinciding with the birth of the Gyalsey, Zhabdrung Phunsum Tshogpai Thongdrel was also unfurled for public veneration. The prayer ceremonies will be held for three days beginning today.

In Phuenstshogling, the management, faculty, staff and the participants of the Leadership Programme for Parliamentarians at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies, offered prayers and butter lamps at the Pelden Tashi Choling Lhakhang.

Later, they also participated in a Tshethar ceremony releasing live fishes into Amochhu.

The National Assembly’s Speaker, Chairperson of the National Council, Opposition Leader, Royal Civil Service Commission’s Chairperson, Members of Parliament and RIGSS staff were present at the ceremony.
