Tshimasham Police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly smuggling controlled substances, on Tuesday. The police say the suspect was in possession of contraband substances when he was arrested.

The police had arrested the suspect in Tshimasham when he was travelling from Phuentshogling to Thimphu. He is said to have hid the substances in a black plastic wrapped with a carpet.

The case will be forwarded to the Office of Attorney General. He will be charged for illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs.
