PM leaves for India Ideas Conclave

PM-Union Home MinisterPrime Minister, Tshering Tobgay and the delegation was in India’s Capital, New Delhi en-route to Goa, yesterday. Lyonchhen has been invited as the Chief Guest for the inaugural session of the second India Ideas Conclave that will take place from November 15-17, 2015 in Goa.

The Union Minister for Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh and Minister for State of Commerce and Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman, called on Lyonchhen at ITC Maurya, New Delhi.PM- Shrimati Nirmala Sitharaman-Minister of State for Commerce-

Lyonchhen and the home minister discussed issues relating to strengthening cooperation in maintaining peace and security in the border areas of the two countries. They expressed satisfaction with the existing mechanisms between the two countries on border management. Lyonchhen invited the Minister to visit Bhutan at a convenient time.

Lyonchhen discussed with the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry ways to strengthen trade and commerce between the two countries and also facilitation of Bhutan’s trade within the region and outside. They discussed the Agreement on Trade, Commerce and Transit which is due for renewal in June 2016.

They agreed to complete the discussions and sign the agreement within the time frame. Lyonchhen invited the Minister to visit Bhutan in April or May 2016 to sign the agreement.

Lyonchhen and the delegation left for Goa, today. In addition to addressing the inaugural session of the second India Ideas Conclave, Lyonchhen will meet the Governor and Chief Minister of Goa, the Union Minister for Defence and the Union Minister for Railways.
