OAG-OAG to handle View Point Resort’s caseOffice of Attorney General (OAG) will now handle the case of illegal transaction of 4.74 acres dry land in Trongsa where View Point Resort is built. The Anti-Corruption Commission had handed over the case to OAG.

The former Trongsa Dzongda, Lhab Dorji, is alleged to have manipulated the documents and transferred the land to his wife, Karma Tshetim Dolma.

The controversy surfaced after the Trongsa Dzongkhag acquired private land from 33 households for the construction of Institute of Language and Cultural Studies at Taktse in 2003-04.

One of owners, who was compensated Nu 45,000, found out she was landless after she crosschecked with the dzongkhag. She found out her more than two acres land was in Karma Tshetim Dolma’s name.

Another allegation against Lhab Dorji is again of manipulation of documents of 2.28 acres of dry land in Draagteng Gewog during the same time. He is said to have transferred the land to his wife even in the second case.
