Gas shortage-ParoResidents of Paro are finding it increasingly difficult to exchange LPG cylinders from one of their supplier, Bhutan Oil Distributor. The shortage came after the government introduced card system in Thimphu.

Since few days back, customers in Paro have been waiting for hours at the station to exchange their cooking gas.

Today, there were more than hundred people in queue waiting to exchange their cylinders. Not everyone got one. The problem, most say, was becoming more worrying.Gas shortage-Paro-

A Manager, Thujee said the rush started soon after the introduction of card system. There were no complications before.

Providing cylinders each to all customers would be difficult, Thujee said, many would probably have to go back.

“There are people coming even from Thimphu and the godowns remain empty.”

The other two LPG distributors in Paro say they do not have shortage issue.
