shingkhar road resumes contrccution copyThe construction of controversial Shingkhar Gewog Centre road in Zhemgang resumes after the work was stalled for about a month following the road alignment dispute. The work began early this week.

People of Upper and Lower Wamling in the gewog finally came to a consensus to go ahead with the construction of the 11 kilometre road. It was agreed after government decided to build a three-kilometre approach road for Upper Wamling from Wombugang. It means the gewog road alignment will remain the same.

Gewog officials said approach road survey has been done and they are now in the process of getting clearances from concerned stakeholders to begin the construction.

The Shingkhar Gewog Centre road is being constructed at a cost of Nu 48 M.
