The opening ceremony of the 14th Session of the National Council was held in the afternoon, today. The National Assembly speaker also attended the opening.
During the session, the Upper House of the parliament will table several bills. These are Local Government Entitlement Bill, Bio-Safety Bill, Tenancy Amendment Bill, Parliamentary Entitlement Amendment Bill and the Narcotics, Drugs, Psychotropic Substance and Substance Abuse Bill.
The National Council will also discuss the audit report on mining and quarrying sector. They will also re-deliberate the Office of Attorney General Amendment Bill.
This session of the Parliament will also see joint sitting on the disputed bills. They are the Local Government Amendment Bill, National Council Amendment Bill and National Assembly Amendment Bill.
The National Council will end on December 8.
