(Update): The Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) rejected the Journalist Association Bhutan’s written appeal to reconsider Needrup Zangpo’s case on his appointment to the post of Media attaché at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The letter from the Royal Civil Service Commission to the JAB states that the commission looked into the matter and no basis was found for entertaining the appeal for reconsideration of his appointment.

It also says the recruitment process for such appointments are only complete when RCSC gives its endorsement by giving an employee ID, as provided in the Bhutan Civil Service Rules and Regulations 2012.

The appeal letter was sent on behalf of Needrup Zangpo, a former editor at the Bhutan Observer after he appealed to the Journalists Association of Bhutan to help redress the cabinet’s unfair treatment on his appointment to the post.

The Complain Redresser Committee of the JAB is also expecting a respond from the Cabinet Secretary in a day or two.
