Kuwait Minister arrives in Thimphu

At the invitation of the government of Bhutan, Minister of Al-Diwan Al-Amiri of the State of Kuwait, Mr. Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, is on a visit to Bhutan.

The minister was received at Paro International Airport by HRH Dasho Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck and the senior government officials, this morning.

While in Bhutan, the minister will be granted an audience by His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. He will also be meeting Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.

He will leave the country on August 18.

The visit of Mr. Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Bhutan is in keeping with the tradition of exchanging high-level visits between the two countries.

His Majesty the King visited Kuwait in February 2011 to attend the 50th anniversary of Kuwait’s independence at the invitation of His Highness Amir Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al Sabah of the State of Kuwait.

Diplomatic relations between Bhutan and the State of Kuwait was established on 23rd May, 1983. Bhutan established a resident Embassy in Kuwait in May 1983, while Kuwait established its embassy in Thimphu on 29th December 2010. Bhutan and Kuwait maintain very close and friendly relations.
