KawangRoadCondition- The residents of Kawang Gewog in Thimphu say the road leading to the Gewog centre is in a dire need of maintenance. The road also needs to be black topped.

They said the unpaved road, surfaced with gravels is giving them problem both in summer and winter. The road develops potholes during monsoon and in winter, the icy road is difficult to ply through.

They said the road requires regular and timely maintenance.

According to the Kawang Gup, Sonam Dorji, the gewog has written to the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement with regard to black topping of the road.

However, the Gup said such issues should be raised during the Gewog Zomdu but people do not come for the meeting. He added the gewog will soon conduct the Zomdu and discuss the issue.

Kawang Gewog centre is located around three kilometers away from Thimphu town.
