Success story of vocational and technical graduates,Jobs are hard to come by but not for vocational and technical graduates, believe the graduates of the Technical Training Institute in Khuruthang. More than a hundred electrical and mechanical trainees received their graduation certificates at the institute’s 12th Graduation Ceremony, yesterday.

Tshering Choden who completed a two-year mechanical certificate course says there are jobs aplenty in the private sector.

Another graduate, Nima Tshering, has already found a job. “The experience so far shows it is not hard to find jobs. A construction company wanted three electricians. I applied for it and got selected.”

The Institute’s Principal, Karma Dorji, said almost 80 percent of the graduates from the Technical Training Institute are employed.  “If you have an employment rate of around 80 percent then we consider it a success story.”

He also said in the overall economic scenario of the country, the employment opportunities are more in the private and construction sectors.

The Technical training institute in Khuruthang offers two-year certificate course in Electrical and Mechanical.
