PDP clears financial liabilities

PDP-annual party conventionThe People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has cleared all the financial liabilities beginning from 2007 till date, the party’s General Secretary, Sonam Jatsho, told those gathered for the annual party convention in Thimphu, today.

Besides this, the Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay was re-elected as PDP’s Party President, once again. The Home Minister, Damchoe Dorji, was also re-elected the Vice President of the Party.

The post of the party’s General Secretary again went to Sonam Jatsho.

Party’s treasurer, executive committee members and district coordinators from the 20 dzongkhags were also elected at the convention. In the meantime, the party’s supporters also raised questions on issues pertinent to national policies. Supporters also requested the party’s president and other prominent members to fulfill some of the unfulfilled pledges of the party.

President Tshering Tobgay said the party is doing all they can to fulfill the pledges. The president also mentioned that works for the 11th Five Year Plan are in full swing.

The party also discussed on how to sustainably manage the party’s head office and branch offices in the dzongkhags.
