PM promises an auditorium to Sherubtse College

PM promises an auditorium to Sherubtse CollegeBuilt in the 1960’s, the auditorium of Sherubtse College is in dire need of a facelift. The auditorium has also suffered damage from the 2009 earthquake. It was renovated twice since but the auditorium is still needs a major facelift.

It will not be long before the old auditorium is refurbished. Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay promised to restore the auditorium and also the clock tower while meeting the students of the College, yesterday.Sherubtse-Clock Tower

“Give me one and an half years and you will have your auditorium fixed,” said Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay.

The College also wants a new auditorium with space to accommodate 2,500 students. The proposal was put up to the government but it has not come through. The College intends to put up the proposal to the government again.

The existing auditorium has seats for only about 400 students.
