His Majesty graces the closing ceremony of second parliament

HM-closing ceremony of the 2nd session of the second Parliament- His Majesty the King graced the closing ceremony of second parliament today. Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen had accompanied His Majesty. Also present were their Royal Highnesses, the prince and the princess and some international dignitaries.

At the closing session, the Minister for Works and Human Settlement, Dorji Choden expressed gratitude to His Majesty the King for commanding the immediate reconstruction of Wangdue phodrang Dzong.

Lyonpo Dorji  Choden also expressed gratitude to His Holiness the Je Khenpo for presiding over prayer ceremony for the reconstruction works of Wangdue Dzong. She thanked His Majesty the King for the instituting Desuups Training Programme.

She expressed gratitude to Their Majesties for their recent visit to the Eastern Dzongkhags and celebrating Chunipai Losar with the people of East and granting Land kidus.

The National Council and the Opposition also expressed their gratitude for His Majesty and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen.

In this session, the National Assembly passed the Right to Information Bill, the National Assembly Amendment Bill, and the Local Government Amendment Bill.

The Bills will now be submitted to National Council.

The members endorsed the National Assembly Rules of Procedure. The House also decided to defer the deliberations on Pay Commission Report in the next session.

The session concluded with the Members of the Parliament offering Tashi Moenlam to His Majesty the King.
