GovernmentReceived-71b-PMThe Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, said the government will be receiving an additional Nu.71 billion as grant from the International Financial Institutions for 11th Five Year Plan. The budget outlay for 11th Five Year Plan is Nu.213 billion. Lyonchhen was responding to the question posed by the Opposition Leader.

The Opposition Leader, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, during the question hour session in the National Assembly today, said they are uncertain about the current status of the 11th plan. He asked the Prime Minister if the content of the plan was revised and budget reduced.

Lyonchhen said the plan has neither been revised nor the budget reduced even though it got delayed due to election process. He also informed the members on the budget of the 11th Five Year Plan and presented the details of the grant that the government will be receiving from the development partners.

Meanwhile, the Panbang MP, Dorji Wangdi, asked the government to highlight some of the significant benefits that people received from their 100-day pledges. He said even though the government claims to have fulfilled 74 percent of its 100-day pledges, the Opposition feels the benefits are not concrete.

Responding to the question, the Prime Minister informed the House about the status of their 100-day pledges. He added many are fulfilled and they are working on fulfilling the remaining pledges, which includes starting the Bhutan lottery business.
