More than 16 buses had been stranded in Thinleygang, between Wangdue Phodrang and Thimphu yesterday. The buses were commuting from as far as the Eastern and Southern parts of the country. The passengers had to endure cold and go hungry. The two small hotels at Toktokha had run of out food given the huge number of people stranded at the site. The buses could move to their destination only today, as the weather cleared.
Meanwhile, Road blocks at Chapcha, along the Thimphu-Phuentshogling Highway and Dochula Pass have been cleared. The weather cleared up and helped melt the sleet and snow that has that triggered the blocks. It was a bright sunny day in Thimphu. Thimphu experienced its first snowfall of the year yesterday. The snowfall started about 11 yesterday morning.
