CDCL awarded projects directlyThe Construction Development Corporation Limited (CDCL) has been awarded the construction of three bridges under the Small Development Projects directly, without having to go through tendering process.

The construction of the three bridges in Thimphu is worth Nu.123.6 M.

The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, during Meet the Press yesterday, said CDCL was awarded the project in recognition of its ability to start and finish the project with only Bhutanese workers.

“If there are any other contractors in Bhutan, in the private sector, bridge builders who can build bridges from start to end using all Bhutanese workers and engineers, let us know because we will also award you contracts without having to go through or participate,” said Lyonchhen.

He said the invitation is for all contractors.

A total of 257 new Small Development Projects, worth Nu.5 B, have been approved.
