The Centre for Bhutan Studies and Gross National Happiness Research will start the third nationwide Gross National Happiness survey from January 1, 2015.
The survey will start from the southern dzongkhags of Chhukha, Samtse, Sarpang, Tsirang and Dagana.
More than 8,000 respondents, above 15 years of age, throughout the country will be interviewed.
A Research Officer at CBS, Karma Wangdi said the survey is to gather information, which will help the planning process for the 12th Five Year Plan. He added it is also for the international conference that will be held next year.
The last survey was held in 2010. The survey concluded, Paro as the happiest dzongkhag while Samdrup Jongkhar, Trongsa and Tashi Yangtse as the least happy dzongkhags.
