Police in Monggar apprehended four shopkeepers, two in Monggar and two other in Gyalpoizhing, for selling tobacco products. The police had raided their shops following a tip-off.
The shopkeepers had claimed that the tobacco products were for self-consumption. However, they had failed to produce proper receipts.
The Superintendent of Monggar Police said, the cases are still under investigation and that the shops will be strictly monitored from now on. He also added there are a few other shops that are on their watch list.
