Coinciding with His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s 58th Birth anniversary, the Kirat Religious Association of Bhutan performed its annual ritual or the “Mubekwa Chesok Sewa” in Changedaphu.
Kirat people are nature-worshippers and believe in divinity, the soul and the primordial energy form known to them as the Tagera Ningwaphuma. They perform rituals by offering flowers, fruits and holy water to their deities.
The annual ritual was performed for the well-being of the King, peace and prosperity in the country.
Rai and Subba dances were also performed.
The Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, cabinet ministers, and members of parliament attended the ceremony.
