Common environmental problems associated with industrial projects discussed

CommonEnvProblemSome of the common environmental problems associated with the industrial projects are waste-water discharge, emission of air pollutants and generation of industrial wastes. To ensure that these areas of problem are monitored as per the relevant Acts in the country, a five-day workshop was conducted in Phuentshogling. It was attended by the environment officers from various government and corporate agencies.

The workshop, which ended yesterday, briefed the participants on compliance Monitoring processes and protocol towards environment mainstreaming and emission reduction.

During the workshop, participants were also made aware on the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions and Low Emission Development Strategies. It was organised by the National Environment Commission in collaboration with the Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi.
