Hon'ble-PM-with-Mr-Taro-KimuraThe Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Taro Kimura and his delegation called on the Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang this morning. During the meeting Lyonchhen said Bhutan is looking forward to a greater Japanese support to help grow more economically in the future.

Lyonchhen told the Special Advisor that happiness, agriculture and forestry are interrelated and the 11th Five Year Plan places a strong emphasis on overall development and inclusive growth with a focus on agriculture development and achieving self-reliance.

Lyonchhen said that agriculture was extremely important for Bhutan and the farmers in Bhutan need help and support from the government (Japanese) to improve agricultural productivity and increase their yield.

Kimura congratulated Lyonchhen for instituting a firm and successful democratic set-up in the Country.

Lyonchhen said the visit, soon after the second general elections, marks the high level of goodwill, support and the bilateral bond of friendship between the two countries.
