DPT_-PetitionThe Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) submitted their 15 points petition letter to His Majesty the King, yesterday.

In a press conference yesterday, DPT’s Kinga Tshering said DPT would like to submit gratitude to His Majesty for graciously consenting to review the petition. “Having  received an audience  with His Majesty by our  supporters and following His Majesty’s command DPT feels  fully reassured and confident in our meaningfully participation as the Opposition party in the parliament.”

DPT said that they will take up the opposition role. They came to the decision at their executive committee meeting, after an audience with His Majesty.

“His Majesty has commanded that the petition will be reviewed through relevant agencies. And with the reassurances from the throne DPT feel that we will be able to participate in the democratic process as the opposition.”
