VP_Haran--AmbassadorThe Indian Ambassador to Bhutan, V.P. Haran, has said that India has agreed assistance to the 11th Five Year Plan. He said the Indian government had been waiting for the new government to be formed in Bhutan. He shared that if the new government would like preliminary discussions on the Plan, the Indian government is prepared for that as well.

The Ambassador also stated that the Indian government is “acutely conscious” of the trouble faced by Bhutanese people due to the withdrawal of subsidies on Kerosene and LPG, and that the Indian government will work to solve the problem at the earliest.

Ambassador Haran maintains that unlike what was reported by Indian media, the withdrawal of subsidies in Bhutan was not political at all.
