The black-out period for the election campaign will begin from tomorrow. Political parties are to end their campaigns for the general round of the National Assembly elections by 9 am tomorrow.

Political parties, party supporters, and the media including social media users will not be allowed to campaign or write anything that could be qualified as campaigning from 9 am tomorrow until the poll closes.

During the black-out period, police will be carrying out intensive security surveillance for any unlawful and unauthorised activities violating the Election Act, Security Rules and Regulations and any other laws. Anyone found violating the rules will be dealt as per the law.

Police will also conduct strict checking of the hotels and vehicles and people will be frisked.
