Nation observes Her Majesty's birth anniversary

Her Majesty's the Gyaltsuen 23 Birth AnniversaryHer Majesty the Gyaltsuen turned 23 yesterday. Her Majesty was born on June 4, 1990.

In an informal birthday celebration held at the Lingkhana palace earlier today, the armed forces and the members of the Taxi Association of Bhutan offered Tashi Khadar and a birthday cake to Her Majesty.

After the ceremony, they were granted an audience by His Majesty the King and the Gyaltsuen.

The taxi drivers came from all over Bhutan. They were granted soelra by Their Majesties.

Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen is from Pangtey in Bumthang. Her Majesty went to Little Dragon Montessori and then to Sunshine School.

Her Majesty had studied for a year at the Changangkha Lower Secondary school and completed her Middle Secondary School from Lungtenzampa.

After Lungtenzampa, Her Majesty went to St Joseph’s Convent in Kalimpong and Saint Lawrence in India.

Her Majesty then went to Regents College in the UK.Her Majesty's the Gyaltsuen graced thegraced the celebration of World Environment Day

Meanwhile, coinciding with Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen’s 23rd birth anniversary, the World Environment Day was marked yesterday, in the capital. The theme this year is ‘Think, Eat, Save- a global initiative on addressing food waste’.

Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen who is the patron of the environment sector graced the day.

Her majesty participated in a tree plantation event held to mark the day. The effort is a contribution towards Her Majesty’s plan to greens cape and beautify Bhutan.

Starting this year, the World Environment Day will be observed on June 4 coinciding with Her Majesty’s birthday instead of June 5.
