Sonam Tshering, a staff of the Election Commission of Bhutan, won the Best Author for his translation work titled ‘Tharpai Lam’. The book, which talks about the ways to achieve enlightenment through religion, took away the title from three other books selected for the competition.
He received Nu.50,000 as a cash prize.
The Dzongkha Book Competition was organised by the Dzongkha Development Commission with a prime objective to encourage and promote dzongkha write-ups. It is an annual competition.
The event first began in 2000.
